Back at Katie's car, Jon noticed she was really shivering. He spotted a blanket in the back and wrapped it around her, and said, "You're freezing, let me drive back."
She gladly handed the keys to him, and snuggled into the passenger seat. Once back in her driveway, Jon got out and opened Katie's door. "What do you say we go inside and dry off? I'm sure I have a pair of sweats for you to wear while we dry your clothes. You can't drive all the way back like that." She said.
"That would be much appreciated, babe." Jon looked relieved. He was so wet he could have wrung his t-shirt out. Even in her soaked state, Katie was able to appreciate how the wet t-shirt molded itself to his finely toned torso. The visual was a good start to warming her up. Once inside, Katie turned to Jon and asked, "Would you like to grab a hot shower?"
Jon raised one eyebrow at her offer. Katie caught on very quickly and pretended to slap his arm." You are incorrigible." She laughed, "If you go to the top of the stairs and take a left, there is the bathroom. There are clean towels in the closet." She went to her laundry room through the kitchen and brought back a pair of sweatpants for him to put on. "Just toss your clothes down the stairs and I will put them in the dryer."
"That sounds awesome." Jon kissed her on the cheek and took the sweatpants, heading upstairs. After a moment Katie heard the water turn on and saw Jon's t-shirt and jeans tumble down the stairs. She put them in the dryer, then went up to her bedroom to take a quick shower in the master bath. After her shower, she threw on a pair of jeans and a slim fit, black t-shirt. Her hair still wet and feet bare, she padded downstairs. She turned the corner into the living room and was greeted with the sight of Jon sitting on the sectional in her sweatpants and no shirt. She stopped short with a quick intake of breath. Damn, that man could render her completely stupid. Jon noticed her gaze and stood up, taking her hand and leading her to the sofa next to him. "I'm sorry I forgot a shirt, I can grab you something." Katie offered.
Katie exclaimed breathlessly, "Oh God, Jon, kiss me. Please kiss me." She grabbed his head in her hands and pulled his face back to hers. Jon was almost at the point of no return when he heard her plea. He devoured her mouth with his once again, gently laying her down on the sofa. As his body pressed into hers, from head to toe, Katie realized she could feel him growing against her leg. It caused a deep grown to erupt from her throat. Something clicked in Jon when he heard her, and realized he better cool things down before he got to the point of no return. He pulled back and sat up, pulling her up with his arm around her. He brought her in close and they sat there, each feeling the other breathing fast and deeply.
Katie uttered a simple, "Wow."
Jon whispered in her ear, "My God, Katie. The things you do to me."
The dryer buzzer went off causing them both to jump. "Oh, looks like your clothes should be dry." Katie said as she jumped up. Jon sat up, running his hand through his hair. He was both thankful and disappointed when she stood up and went into the laundry room. He wanted her. There was no way around it now. He had to be honest with himself. She was the whole package. She was sweet, funny, caring, and she was damn sexy. She had managed to start a fire in him that was getting hotter and hotter. He felt like he just wanted to dive inside of her and wrap her skin around him. Jon shook his head slightly as he thought about it. How had this happened? He didn't have any intention of dating for a while, and surely not becoming involved like this for quite some time, if even then. But Katie was like a drug he couldn't get enough of. Even though he was surprised at the realizations, in no way did he want to stop this path they seemed to both be on. He did think of himself as a gentleman, and would never push Katie further than she wanted to go. But her response to his touch was explosive. He could see that she may be feeling the same way. Just then he heard her come back into the room and he looked up. He stood up, walking towards her and meeting her half way into the room. He took the clothes and after laying them down on the chair, put his arms around her in a hug, drawing her in close.
"Ah, sweet Katie. I think it's best if I get dressed and get going. My mind is in a place it shouldn't be." He lifted her chin so she was looking up at him. "I am having some very strong feelings for you, in more ways than one."
Katie held her breath for a moment and started, "Jon, it's ok. I don't think I have made it a secret that I am feeling the same things you are. And it is more than what happened just now. Much more."
He kissed her lightly on the lips and said in a whisper, "Katie, I am not sure where this is headed, but I sure know I don't want to turn back now."
"Me, either." She said as she held his gaze. Jon sighed. He knew he should go to save them both right now. "Then buckle up baby, 'cause its a bumpy ride."
His response caused Katie to giggle slightly, "You are so amazing, funny. Everything."
"I am glad someone thinks so." Jon chuckled. "I should go. You will thank me later." Katie nodded. She knew he was right. Now wasn't the time. Not quite yet. She picked his clothes up and handed them to him with a smile.
"Thank you, babe." He said as he went up the stairs to change. After Jon came back down he asked, "Are you still ok with Rockport?"
"Hell ya!" Katie exclaimed. "I have a place to stay in mind, if that's ok with you. I will make reservations? Can you be here Friday morning at say, oh, 9 a.m.?"
Jon walked over to her and gave her a slow, sensual kiss, "I will be here at 8:45" he said as he looked at her with that gaze that made her feel he could see her soul. Another quick kiss and he was out the door.
Katie sighed as she leaned against the door frame watching him back out of the driveway. She had a feeling life was about to take a detour and she may never find her way back.
